SERVICES
Early Care Center is a field service for families with children who are disabled since early childhood and whose families are therefore in difficult situation in life.
Early Care Center as a field service is focused on a whole family and provided at home, where children feel safer and their behavior is more natural.
Forms of services provided:
- Consultation in families
- Services outside family environment
- Counseling services in our own counseling offices
Services provided:
- Supporting families in times of crisis
- Field counseling and counseling in our own facilities
- Professional advice for communication with child, behavior problems, helping with child’s education and development
- Helping to choose right equipment, aids, toys for kids. Recommending useful publications
- Social, educational and legal counseling service which helps to protect client's rights
- Providing contacts of other specialists such as speech therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists etc.
- Helping to choose the right pre school and school facility, helping with integration and choice of personal assistant if required
- Acting as median between families, organizing their meetings and holiday programmes together
- Seminars and lectures for parents
How does it work:
- Families can get information about Early Care Center EDUCO Zlin on their webpage, in regional newspapers, at medical specialists, official reports or from current and former clients
- Parents contact our Center according their own free will through phone, email or in person. At this stage they state the reason why they are contacting the center.
- Both parties agree on the meeting, preferably at child’s home ( can be arranged in our center if parents prefer that)
- Acceptance of family is based on team decision of two Early Care counselors. The contract is signed between both parties regarding the service
- Parents have a choice of meeting places – either at home or in our Center and our counselor
- Parents and counselor agree on a day and time of the appointment
- Our center employs professionals who then can team up with other specialists ( pediatrics, physiotherapists, social workers), schools and other organizations. Frequency of the appointments depends on demand. Usually once every four to eight weeks.
- Parents, after consultation with our counselor, choose their own working method with their child and take control of its implementation – always with consideration of child’s abilities and health
- Parents state their goals and ideas which they would like to achieve on the first appointment with our counselor
Early Support Center principles of providing services to clients:
- Principle of Dignity - to respect individuality of each child, cultural, social and educational differences of each family, to deal with client as with a partner, to keep all the records about clients
- Principle of Protection of Privacy – counselor only enters and works in places where he was invited to by client's family, all information about the client are provided with family approval, all documentation is confidential
- Principle of Empowerment – our counselor respects the client's right to get all the information in extent they wish to or the right to make their own decisions. Families taking part in our programmes are members of inter disciplinary team. We support legal awareness of families
- Principle of Independence – we support our client's ability to solve their problems or challenges independently
- Principle of choice – clients can choose if they are going to accept services offered by our Center, all planing is made in cooperation with family in regards to their individual demands
- Principle of team work and integral services – cooperation between internal and external members of inter disciplinary team brings qualitative, time and economical advantages for clients and society. The clients is part of all decisions made.
- Principle of natural environment – most of our services
are provided in family home, all methods chosen respect
natural environment within the family, all the appointments
respect the daily routine of the family,
8.Principle of continuity – when finishing the cooperation, the family is offered other means of support ( other organizations) in region, Early support care helps with integration to the community in the region
